The Software Crisis in 2011

The first first few episodes are based on real conversations during the spring and summer of 2011.

That's over forty years since we started talking about the software crisis. This was the time of project running over time and over budget. A time of low quality software, that did not meet requirements. Software that was difficult to maintain, if it was even delivered.

That's over forty years of advances in the tools and techniques of building software. Numerous papers, studies, conferences, user groups. A huge period of growth for the field of computing.

And in 2011, the software crisis still exists in many organizations

It does not have to be that way

There are ways to develop and deliver software, which does what the user needs, is of a very high quality, and is easy to extend, modify and exchange.

I hope these conversations will help.
